Nurse Navigators offers Reiki I & II training/therapy sessions...

Our most recent class of Reiki practitioners was certified on April 12 on the shores of Lake Greenwood. Eight students were trained by Reiki Master, Jean Seymour, and facilitated for contact hours by Judy Markell and Barbara Warner. This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Students included registered nurses, nurse practitioners, massage therapists, and others interested in working with the energy medicine form known as Reiki. They worked on each other as part of the training and were amazed by the insights they were able to “intuit/feel” using this Japanese form of energy healing.

Reiki and other forms of energy medicine such as Therapeutic Touch and Healing Touch are particularly effective with palliative care and hospice. These newly certified practitioners are willing to volunteer their time in working with this population.
